ILLINOIS – As reported by KWWL TV: "Could another casino be in the cards for the tri-states? The city of East Dubuque, Illinois hopes so. City leaders are trying to get their gaming license back.
"It's been eight years since the Silver Eagle Casino closed in East Dubuque, and city leaders say they are still trying to recover. City officials say losing the Silver Eagle cost East Dubuque hundreds of jobs and millions of dollars.
"So, they're sending state leaders a letter, asking to get either financial assistance or their casino back in East Dubuque.
"…Many people in town support the idea.
"…East Dubuque's gaming license was taken away after the Silver Eagle's owner went bankrupt. That license is now part of a heated legal battle that sits with the Illinois Supreme Court…"
