LOS ANGELES, California – As reported by Reuters: "Atlantic City casino gambling revenue rose 7.3 percent in December, sending the 2005 total over the $5 billion mark for the first time, the New Jersey Casino Control Commission said on Tuesday.
"Annual revenue rose 4.4 percent to $5.02 billion, while December revenue increased to $387 million.
"Atlantic City is working to become an entertainment destination like Las Vegas, adding hotel rooms, shopping and dining to a mix still dominated by gambling. Nevada topped $10.5 billion in casino revenue in 2004, as Las Vegas has transformed itself into an entertainment center.
