TUNICA, Mississippi – As reported by the Jackson Clarion Ledger: "Gov. Haley Barbour said Hurricane Katrina washed away casino industry concerns the state would raising the gaming tax.
"'I think raising the casino tax would be the most foolish thing the state could do,' Barbour said in the opening address of the 13th annual Southern Gaming Summit.
"Barbour said he believes all the counties that want gaming have it. Mississippi currently has gaming along the Mississippi River and its tributaries and on the Gulf Coast.
"…Barbour said he expects business along the Gulf Coast to come back bigger and better…"
