Silver Nugget to stage Tuesday Night Fights

LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- The sweet science will be on display in monthly Tuesday Night Fights at the renovated Silver Nugget Event Center.

The first five-fight card will be Sept. 30.

Former referee and current trainer Richard Steele, a Hall of Famer, will run the shows at the Silver Nugget, just north of the Strip.

He hopes to pit area boxers against fighters from Arizona, California and Texas. Margate Entertainment, based in Henderson, will televise the bouts on its all-boxing TVSBoxing.net service.

The Silver Nugget Boxing Club will call the 14,000 square-foot arena its home. A press conference has been scheduled for Friday at the Silver Nugget Casino.
