The Reel Life

6 November 2008

Seven dollars can go a long way here at the Reel Life. You can play 700 penny slots for that amount of money. Or 140 nickel slots. Or 28 quarter slots. Or seven one-dollar slots.

According to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Don Linscomb, 40, used $7 to buy himself an all-you-can eat buffet at the Iron Skillet restaurant in Atlanta. His girlfriend came along with him but did not purchase a meal. She did, however, eat "a couple of bites" from Linscomb's plate.

Busted.

After he was charged for two meals instead of one, Linscomb refused to pony up the extra $7, claiming there were "no signs in the restaurant that said someone could not have some food off your plate."

Police were called to the scene and arrested Linscomb, charging him with theft of services. He spent two nights in jail after pleading guilty to a lesser charge of disorderly conduct.

The Reel Life would like to suggest to Don Linscomb the next time he goes to the Iron Skillet, pay for everyone who eats off his plate. And then take $7 and play the slots. It certainly beats spending the next two nights in jail.

That's gold baby

Deborah W was out of this world when she scooped a £10,565 windfall with Bingo Gold!

"I'm over the moon with my win! I wasn't at the computer and came into the room to see the screen flashing. Everyone in chat was congratulating me – they were all so lovely."

"I have two teenagers so one wants a laptop and the other a stereo for his car – I think I'll also get family season tickets to the local team but one thing I do know is that I want a holiday somewhere hot, maybe the Maldives!"

It takes two

Adrienne M was sharing the fun while scooping a life-changing £75,034 playing Full House Bingo.

"It wasn't actually me playing at the time it was my partner," she gushed. "I just couldn't believe it."

It was not her first win of the day.

"I'd won £19 in the morning and was so happy to have won that so when I hit the jackpot … I just don't know what to say! It still hasn't sank in yet, I don't think it will until I see the money in my account."

She already has plans for her winnings.

"The first thing I am going to buy is a new car because mine is a wreck!"
