LAS VEGAS -- The Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers appointed longtime responsible gaming advocate Connie Jones to head the trade organization’s initiative on the issue.

Jones, who previously served as director of responsible gaming for slot machine maker IGT - International Game Technology, will assume a similar role with the association. Jones will create responsible gaming policy and plan, provide the global members with quarterly reports on responsible gaming technologies and their business implications.

Association President Thomas Jingoli, who is an executive slot machine maker Konami Gaming, said Jones “is widely considered the pre-eminent expert from the supplier side on problem gambling issues and will continue to be at the forefront of an issue our industry is committed to addressing.”

In 2009, Jones was appointed by Nevada Gov. Jim Gibbons to the state’s Advisory Committee on Problem Gambling and reappointed by Gov. Brian Sandoval in 2013.
