British online gambling industry optimistic over US moves

LONDON, England -- Britain's online gambling industry appears optimistic moves in the United States may lead to regulation of online gaming, The Guardian reported.

British companies suffered a big shock when online gambling was rendered impossible by 2006 legislation that made transfer of funds illegal, the report said.

British companies changed their focus to other parts of the world, but never fully recovered from this economic blow, The Guardian reported.
