TAHLEQUAH, Okla. — It's that time of year again when motorheads and bike enthusiasts come together on Sept. 1 and enjoy the sights of a vast collection of automobiles at the Cherokee National Holiday 10th Annual Car Show at Cherokee Casino - Tahlequah.
The all-ages car show is free to the public and will occur from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
This year marks the 10th annual event during the long-running Cherokee National Holiday, which has occurred annually during Labor Day weekend since 1953.
"This has become a popular staple of the Holiday calendar of events," said Willie Whitekiller, general manager for Cherokee Casino Tahlequah. “It's a fun event for us, and we've always had a great time hosting it. It will be exciting to see which quality cars leave with awards for our 10th annual."
The show has more than 37 categories, which include stock and modified cars and trucks for each decade, beginning pre-1935 through the 2000s. Other categories include Camaro, Mustang, Chevelle and Corvette from multiple decades, and motorcycles with categories for pre-1979 and post-1980.
In addition to category awards, recognition will be given to Best of Show, Best Paint, Best Interior, Chief's Choice, Casino's Choice and the Chamber of Commerce's Choice.
Registration for the car show is open until 1 p.m. the day of the event. Judging begins at 10 a.m., and winners of each class will be presented a trophy at the 3 p.m. ceremony. Free dash plaques will be given to the first 125 show entrants. Registration cost is $15.
