INDIO, California -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The Improv Comedy Club at Fantasy Springs Resort Casino is well into month number two, with many sold-out performances in the books. During the next several weeks, we welcome more veteran comedians, including The Stagebenders, Allan Havey and Flip Schultz.
The Stagebenders will headline on February 15 and 16. They offer a nonstop, fast-paced hurricane of interactive comedy. TV and film appearances include The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, ABC's America's Funniest People, TREKKIES 2, and the Coen Brothers' The Naked Man. They have been featured in national publications such as Esquire and Mechanical Engineering.
Allan Havey will headline February 22 and 23. Havey is considered “one of the best stand-ups working today” according to the New York Daily News and HBO finds him to be “Scathingly funny!” After arriving from Miami in 1978 he began his career in New York as part of the comedy duo Two for Nothing. Havey made the move to individual standup in 1981 after “passing” at the famous IMPROV and quickly became a regular in clubs around the city.
Steve White headlines on March 1 and 2. Unpredictability and liveliness are to be expected at any showcase White headlines. White’s loud voice and vibrant personality captivate crowds, daring them to keep up with his up-tempo style. His numerous movie credits include Do the Right Thing and Jungle Fever. He also surfaces on several Comedy Central productions, HBO, BET and Fox television.
Vince Morris headlines on March 8 and 9. Always speaking from his heart, Morris is dangerously funny. With his diverse style and original material, he appeals to audiences from all walks of life. His unique ability to “switch gears” allows his comedy to go from dirty to squeaky clean, from personal to improvisational and from thought provoking to just downright silly.
Flip Schultz will headline on March 15 and 16. Since the age of eight, Schultz knew he was going to be a comedian. It was at this age that he won a talent show for doing stand-up. It wasn't until 18 that Flip braved a "real" comedy stage (which doubled as a bar) and won the open mike contest. For the next two years he got as much stage time as possible. It paid off when he started making money. His TV credits include Last Comic Standing, Comedy Central and HBO.
Improv Comedy shows at Fantasy Springs run through April 13.
