Fifa stepping up to defeat international match-fixing

LONDON, England -- FIFA has reiterated its commitment to defeating match-fixing, which it says threatens the "integrity of the game", the BBC reported.

800 matches were watched for their betting patterns last year, the report said.

Match-fixing is a highly lucrative activity that FIFA now employs an Early Warning System to detect, the BBC report noted.
