LONDON, England -- The former head of Marks & Spencer (British retail giant) has been shortlisted to replace the departing chief executive of Ladbrokes, according to The Guardian.
The Guardian report quoted city sources who said Carl Leaver was being considered because Ladbrokes neeeds a chief executive with a specialist retail background.
There are four other candidates on the list, with contrasting experience, The Guardian reported.
A decision is thought to several months away and the candidate will arrive at a difficult time for Ladbrokes, The Guardian noted in the report.
