Gutierrez Kentucky Derby win to put Vancouver horsetrack on the map

LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- A Vancouver jockey has won the Kentucky Derby, according to the Vancouver Sun.

Mario Gutierrez who rode I'll Have Another won with odds of 15-1, the report said.

Gutierrez is being hailed as a local hero because of the attention he will now bring to the Hastings Racetrack in Vancouver where he trained and raced for six years, the Vancouver Sun said.
