LONDON -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Healys LLP, the London Law Practise, is to host a free breakfast seminar to discuss the future for U.K.-facing online gaming and betting businesses licensed offshore. On Thursday December 13th, industry experts will gather for the briefing at Healys LLP, 15 Jockeys Fields, London.
On December 3, 2012 the U.K. government released draft legislation requiring all U.K.-facing offshore businesses to be licensed in the U.K. The government previously indicated its intention to tax online gaming and betting at the point of consumption in 2014. The combined changes in licensing and taxation will have a dramatic effect on the business models for companies currently licensed and operating or contemplating setting up in Alderney, Isle of Man, Gibraltar and Malta.
“It was a pleasure to be asked by Healys to moderate this seminar,” said iGaming Business Editor in Chief and moderator Michael Caselli. “Since the recent legislation, insight is needed on the future for U.K.-facing online gaming companies. The seminar will allow delegates to hear from key industry figures on the implications for their business.”
Industry expert panelists:
David Schollenberger, Head of Gaming Team, Healys LLP solicitors
Bill Robinson, KPMG Head of Economics
Clive Hawkswood, Executive Director, Remote Gambling Association
Jeremy White, Barrister, Pump Court Tax Chambers
Steve Donoughue, Gambling Consultant
