LOUISVILLE, Kentucky -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- HogWild Poker believes a woman's place is at the poker table. To demonstrate that, HogWild is launching special programs that showcase all three of the leading women's poker organizations.
"Women are the fastest growing under-served segment of the poker world today, and we want to make sure they are welcome here at HogWild Poker - both in open leagues or in leagues designated for female play against their fellow organization members," said Jeff Amrein, Founder and CEO of HogWild. "HogWild Poker is a safe, free and fun way to develop your game in a non-intimidating environment. We'll be working to provide great prizes and incentives to each of these leagues to encourage women to join the fun and win."
Working with HogWild Poker, each of the primary women's poker organizations has designed a league unique to its character.
HogWild Poker has partnered with the Women's Poker Club, headed by Maryann Morrison. Morrison has been a leader in women's poker and set the foundation for the many directions that women's poker has taken in the last decade. She launched the Women's Poker Club, the first all-online women's poker forum, and it was the first to host live women's events in Vegas, as well as in Atlantic City. Morrison also publishes Woman Poker Player magazine, which is now available online, and she staged one of the first televised women's poker events. In connection with HogWild Poker, Morrison's Women's Poker Club is once again jumping into new territory, offering a private league where players compete three times a week for "fun" monthly prizes such as iPods and spa gift cards.
HogWild Poker has also linked up with the High Heels Poker Tour (HHPT), headed by Lauren Failla. The mission of HHPT is to empower women who want to become champions in the growing world of poker. As part of that endeavor, the High Heels Poker Tour will now award its league winners with live tournament entries and satellite buy-ins.
"Our High Heels Poker league with HogWild Poker is really providing added value to our members," says Failla. "They have an opportunity to continue to hone their skill against each other without having to set foot in a casino, yet winning here gives them entrée to our top events."
The Ladies International Poker Series (LIPS), headed by Lupe Soto, is committed to promoting and providing poker tournament venues for women poker players seeking opportunities to challenge other women in comfortable, friendly and yet competitive environments. With HogWild Poker, LIPS is kicking off its team satellite league - "The LIPS Charity Throw Down Series" - by sending a team of 10 HogWild top scorers to the Jennifer Harman Charity Throw Down Tournament in Reno, Nevada, in November.
"The 4th Annual Jennifer Harman Charity Throw Down is the most exciting team charity competition in history," says Soto. "The event raises much-needed funds and awareness for local charities in the Reno, Nevada, area. Celebrities and poker professionals from all over the country attend this event. Nowhere in poker can an individual play alongside these celebrities for a $250 donation to charity. We have supported this event over the past four years and last year, our LIPS Team won! We look forward to hosting a LIPS/HogWild Poker League team and we thank them for supporting such a great charity event."

HogWildPokerLeagues.com offers free and legal online poker in a friendly, but competitive environment. Since 2009, HogWild Poker has been creating unique ways for players to play in or establish their own leagues - and build friendships or rivalries - along the way. HogWild Poker is fun, distinctive and motivates players to play high-quality poker for free - with no subscription fees or display ads.
HogWild Poker holds competitions that reward good players with cash, prizes and recognition. But unlike other poker sites, HogWild Poker emphasizes the challenge of performing consistently over a series of typically shorter games, awarding points that add up to put a player at the top of the site - or the individual league's - leaderboards.
Fast becoming a favorite of online poker players for its innovation, HogWild Poker offers a 3D perspective; the most sophisticated communications tools in the game including voicechat, e-mails and league environments that allow players to converse in multiple ways. The company has also created a feature exclusive to HogWild Poker - Prop Bets. Players can earn, win or purchase "Hog Bucks" currency that allows them to challenge their opponents to Prop Bets such as "Best Hand of The Night," "A Bounty," "Last Player Standing" or "Leader at End of Round."
Anyone can start a private or an open league at no cost, and establish the parameters. These include choosing custom blinds, determining the length and the frequency of the games, and deciding whether to keep it private or open it to all comers. A game can be set up in less than five minutes and then HogWild Poker does the rest.
