HANOVER, Maryland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Maryland Live! Casino commenced 24-hour gaming today at 8:00 a.m. when Robert J. Norton, President and General Manager, unlocked the doors for the final time. Casino customers can now enjoy non-stop gaming and entertainment at the third largest commercial casino in the country 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
"It's a very exciting day for the gaming industry in the State of Maryland and for all of us at Maryland Live!," said Robert J. Norton, President and General Manager, Maryland Live! Casino. "We look forward to providing our guests with world-class gaming and entertainment experiences around the clock, while also preparing to add more than 150 live table games in the coming months."
Until today, Maryland Live! Casino was required to close at 2 a.m., Sunday through Thursday, and 4 a.m. on Friday and Saturday. Now, casino customers can play round-the-clock on 4,750 state-of-the-art slot machines and electronic table games.
In January 2013, construction teams will begin making the modifications necessary to add more than 150 live table games to the casino floor, including Blackjack, Roulette, Craps ,Sic Bo, Baccarat and Poker. Recruitment efforts are well underway for the addition of approximately 1,200 new employees at Maryland Live! in all departments, including approximately 800 dealers.
