Negative slots trend continues at Connecticut casinos

16 October 2012

The Norwich Bulletin reports that slot machine revenue at Eastern Connecticut casinos fell for the ninth consecutive month in September as a weak job market, high gas prices and increased competition continued to take their toll.

The Bulletin states that Foxwoods Resort Casino & MGM Grand at Foxwoods reported a 13 percent revenue decline to $46.3 million from $53.2 million in September 2011 while Mohegan Sun reported an 8.5 percent drop to $54.7 million from $59.8 million for the span.

Mohegan Sun gave $13.7 million to the Connecticut state government for September as per revenue-sharing agreements while Foxwoods contributed $11.8 million, the Bulletin reports.
