Nevada Gold launches casino Facebook app

LAS VEGAS -- Nevada Gold & Casinos, Inc. on Wednesday joined a crowded space online with the launch of its Gold Star Slots, a free-to-play casino app on Facebook. The company's new iGaming site enables players to play slots while introducing them to their properties in South Dakota and Washington.

"Social gaming is one of the leading technology innovations in our industries," said Trevor Taylor, vice president of development and operations at Nevada Gold. Taylor said the idea was to offer Nevada Gold's existing customers a chance to play at home, while also enabling new customers to experience playing real slot games for free online.

Based in Houston, Nevada Gold, which owns 1 percent of The Nugget in Reno, announced in October it will move most of its operations to Las Vegas.
