DUBLIN, Ireland -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- The BetVictor Poker Bad Beat Jackpot is relaunched tomorrow, March 19, 2013, with a staggering, all-time industry high of €921,603 in the prize pool.
The Jackpot, suspended earlier this month to enable a number of changes, will now be more easily won and when it is won more people will benefit from the payout.
From tomorrow players who wish to participate in the Bad Beat Jackpot must use the new "opt-in" option available at all cash tables above €0.10/€0.20c. Once they are opted-in they will contribute 2c to the Jackpot for each hand played.
To make the new Jackpot easier to hit the new qualifying hand is being reduced to four-of-a-kind twos from four-of-a-kind eights. When it does hit, 10 percent of the Jackpot will be shared out among all opted-in players at the stakes at which it is won. Currently that means that over €90,000 will be shared among opted-in players at the same stakes so the Jackpot rewards many more players.
Additionally there will also be no admin fee so 100 percent of the collected money is paid out to players.
Head of poker at BetVictor, Andy Horne, said, “We’re delighted to be able to launch the all new Bad Beat Jackpot with an industry-record breaking prize pool of over €920,000.
“Will it reach €1 million? Who knows! The changes mean it will be won more often and by more people now. The current Jackpot will see over €90,000 paid out to opted in players playing at the same stake as the winner so even if you’re not at the table where it hits you can share in the good fortune and that’s no bad beat!”
