FREEHOLD, New Jersey -- Horse racing industry representatives are calling on New Jersey to support the horse racing industry or risk the peril that it will disappear, The Star-Ledger reported.
Industry people point to the number of people employed beyond the racetracks such as blacksmiths, leatherworkers and more, the report said.
Slots and casinos at racetracks are essential to survival racetrack owners say, meanwhile Gov. Christie has said he won't act until after 2015, according to The Star-Ledger report.
