DUBLIN, Ireland -- Paddy Power's pre-tax profits rose 15% in 2012 thanks to new technologies, The Guardian reported.

Paddy Power saw 44 new shops open in 2012, the report said.

But the real revenue news for Paddy Power was in its online business, the Guardian report stated.
