Rhode Island projects lottery revenue loss

21 January 2013

RHODE ISLAND -- Rhode Island is expecting a budget shortfall due to projected lottery revenue loss of $307.6 million during the next four years, according to a GoLocalProv report.

Table games were approved in a referendum back in November, which will see them installed at the Lincoln Twin River Casino, the report said.

Rhode Island lottery revenue will soon see competition from Massachusetts planned new casinos, hence the projected revenue loss, GoLocalProv reported.
