Schulze is Full Tilt's first live "Flipout" champion

24 March 2014

(PRESS RELEASE) -- German player Felix Schulze has been crowned champion of the first live Full Tilt Poker Flipout Tournament - a special freeroll held at the PokerStars European Poker Tour Vienna Poker Festival in celebration of the recent launch of Flipout Tournaments at Full Tilt Poker.

The live Flipout freeroll, which took place in Vienna’s stunning imperial Hofburg Palace, saw total entries peak at 184 as registration closed yesterday evening but only 81 players would be playing for the first prize of an EPT Vienna Main Event seat worth €5,300.

Full Tilt Poker Professionals Gus Hansen and Viktor Blom were among the 12 star players taking part in the celebratory Flipout Freeroll, alongside Full Tilt Poker Ambassadors Dermot Blain, Hana Soljan, Roberta Cezarescu and Andras Nemeth, Team PokerStars Pros Jan Heitmann and Marcel Luske, and Team PokerStars Online's Dale Philip, Mickey Petersen, Marc-Andre Ladouceur and Matthias Brandner.

The seat draw was revealed today for the remaining 69 seats and among familiar names who made it into the mix were Kevin MacPhee, David Vamplew, and Steve O’Dwyer.

The first stage of the live Flipout freeroll saw players gather for an exciting sweat as three tables flipped at the same time (each player was automatically all in on the first hand) to produce three winners. This happened three times amidst much drama and fun – producing nine players in total, with a variety of online and live tickets on the line.

In the end, Felix Schulze beat Full Tilt Poker Tour Ambassador Andras Nemeth to the top prize. The German will play day 1B of the EPT Vienna Main Event tomorrow.
