Singapore: 9 arrested in illegal gambling bust

SINGAPORE -- 9 people were arrested in an illegal gambling bust yesterday in Singapore, Asia One reported.

The suspects were detained in a gambling den, the report said.

The swoop took 5 hours and it's believed the den, complete with 19 computers, was operated by a 57 year-old male, Asia One reported.

Fines of up to $50,000 can be levied if found guilty of operating an illegal gambling outfit, the report made note.
