LAS VEGAS, Nevada -- Slot machine giant International Game Technology has beefed up its corporate staff by promoting two employees to new positions.

Robert Melendres has been named the Reno-based company's chief legal officer and corporate secretary. Meanwhile, Craig Billings has been appointed chief of staff and head of corporate development.

Melendres joined IGT as chief of staff in June. His previous experience had focused on legal, strategic and corporate development areas for several companies. His corporate secretary appointment is subject to regulatory approval.

Billings joined IGT in March as vice president of corporate finance and investor relations. He was previously with Goldman Sachs where he served as a vice president in the investment banking division in London covering the gaming and leisure industries.
