SugarHouse employees vote casino one of Philly’s ‘Best Places to Work’ again

12 October 2012

PHILADELPHIA -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- For the second year in a row, SugarHouse’s more than 1,000 employees have voted the casino one of Philly’s “Best Places to Work” in the annual ranking published by the Philadelphia Business Journal. This year, the casino earned the Gold recognition in the extra-large company category, the top placement for companies with 1,000 or more employees.

“I would like to extend a big thank-you to the SugarHouse team for voting us again as a ‘Best Place to Work,’”

The “Best Places to Work” program recognizes the top employers in the Delaware Valley, which are determined by scores given to the companies by their own employees through an anonymous survey. The questionnaires are administered by Quantum Workplace, an independent third-party surveying firm.

Once SugarHouse was nominated, a certain percentage of its team members, defined by Quantum Workplace, were required to complete the questionnaire, which asked them to rank the casino on several dozen questions relating to team effectiveness, trust with coworkers, alignment with goals, trust in seniors leaders, as well as recognition and benefits.

Since opening in September 2010, SugarHouse earned the recognition both years it was eligible for the honor. In its first “Best Places to Work” recognition, feedback from team members earned the casino the Bronze ranking.

“I would like to extend a big thank-you to the SugarHouse team for voting us again as a ‘Best Place to Work,’” said Wendy Hamilton, general manager of SugarHouse Casino. “I am always grateful for the hard work, dedication and enthusiasm that they bring to SugarHouse every day.”

In addition to back-to-back recognition in the Philadelphia Business Journal, SugarHouse employees also voted the casino a “Top Workplace” in the ranking conducted by the Philadelphia Inquirer and Daily News earlier this year.
