The Amish may hold on to ancient cultural norms within their own society, but they are still subject to modern laws.
In Pennsylvania, state police are searching for the driver of an Amish buggy in a hit-and-run accident. Local troopers say the buggy twice hit a passenger vehicle, then left the scene and its driver has yet to be identified.
Luckily, nobody was hurt in the crash.
The Reel Life doesn't know much about the Amish, but we always assumed they were good people who helped their neighbors. Ramming into people on the roads and subsequently fleeing the scene doesn't seem to match up with the Amish playbook.
But who knows? Maybe there are Amish ne'er-do-wells out there. Which would be ironic, because if they really weren't all that pious, why stick with the whole "driving a buggy" shtick?
You just can't trust anyone these days.
