Anyone who has ever had their bike stolen knows how much that sucks. You call the cops, they write a report, you hope for the best, but eventually, nothing happens. You're pretty much drawing dead at that point.
Unless you're a crafty Craigslister. According to Happy Place, a woman whose bike was stolen went looking for clues and found a listing for it on Craigslist. She then hatched a master plan that all Reel Life readers should be proud of.
The woman realized the seller had to be the one who stole the bike, or at least an associate of the thief. So she decided to meet the seller in a McDonald’s parking lot nearby, pretending to be an interested buyer. Once there, she recognized her bike, asked to take it for a test drive, and simply rode off into the sunset.
At the end of the day, the woman netted nothing of tangible value. She has the same amount of bikes now that she did a week ago. But this woman now has a story all bike-theft victims dream about, and that's worth more than anything.
The Reel Life applauds this act. Now, if only we had thought of this when our bike was stolen when we were 16 …
