ONCHAN, Isle of Man -- (PRESS RELEASE) -- Delivering great tournament play and over $2.25 million in prize money in its last weekend, the Full Tilt Poker flagship series was crammed with action.
All eyes were on the $1,000,000 FTOPS XXVI Main Event on Sunday, which saw “ponyo88” outlast a field of 1,500 to turn a $635 buy-in into a first prize of over $153k. A deal made three-handed saw players “Sh4wshank” and “LuisFigo1014” also win six-figure sums, taking home $143k and $130k for their second- and third-place finishes.
Topping the FTOPS XXVI Leaderboard with an impressive 1,013 points, “dipthrong” secured the coveted four-month Black Card Pro sponsorship contract, which will start on Monday, September 1st.
The weekend’s other big winners were “floppin_ell,” “brianm15” and “Andras Nemeth,” who chopped Event #28, the $500,000 guaranteed Two-Day Event, for $93k, $93k and $88k, respectively.
After 15 days and 31 events, FTOPS XXVI awarded over $4.5 million in total prize money.
