Tote raises pool deductions by 22%

LONDON, England -- Tote payout rates are changing it was announced today, The Guardian reported.

Deduction rates on successful bets have increased to 16.5 percent up from 13.5 percent, a rate set in 2003, the report saidl

The rationale for this increase in deductions is that it will create better and more stable pools for gamblers, The Guardian said.
