Trump layoff notice issued

ATLANTIC CITY, New Jersey -- The Trump Plaza Hotel and Casino, currently being taken over by the Meruelo Group, has filed a mass layoff notice, the Press of Atlantic City reported.

The filing of a mass-layoff notice is standard legal procedure, the report said.

The Meruelo Group confirmed they plan to rehire a large number of the property's current employees, according to the Press of Atlantic City report.
