Abby Bets Even-Money Roulette

16 March 2023

By Royal Flushes

CINDY: We are now going to go into our roulette analysis. We have decided to play major time periods at the roulette table to see how prolonged play feels (in we will play other games).

ABBY: I’m first up. I will take us through my first prolonged period of play at the table. This is just one night but then I will do a few months of play and report on my findings which will include my feelings. Feelings are important when you play a game or why play it if it doesn’t generate good feelings for you?

ABBY PLAYS ROULETTE

I am sure most of our readers understand roulette.

The ball spins around the top of the wheel and then loses through gravity its movement and descends down the side of the bowl maybe hitting some bumpers, and then landing in the pockets with the numbers. It bounces from this or that pocket until it comes to rest in one of the pockets.

The game is strictly random. On today’s wheels it is hard, extremely hard, to find a wheel that is biased. That’s a thing of the past.

I am going to only play the even-money bets of red/black, high/low, or odd/even.

I am figuring that red/black will be my preferred wager. I do prefer these bets because I am not anticipating extremely long negative streaks which can occur betting directly of the numbers, you have one chance in 38 to hit those, so I’ll leave that to CINDY. Losing streaks do not sit well with me – at all. With even-money bets I am expected to lose 20 bets and win 18 bets.

MY BUY IN

I bought into the game with $500. That would give me 50 bets. I am not intending to increase my bets at all. I am sitting right in front of the red/black bet. I place my blue chips in front of me and I am ready to go.

As I said, the game is random so it doesn’t matter what I bet because randomness controls everything. You cannot make real predictions. The game is strictly luck.

I bet black (Wesley Snipes said “Always bet black.”). Ten dollars on black as $10 is the table minimum. The green 0 came up. I bet black again. A red showed up. So much for black.

The first hour saw me win a few and saw me lose more. I was down $50. That was ten bets. I still had $450 left.

I then went on a winning streak, three reds and two blacks. I was even. It was pretty exciting. I was even after one hour. Not bad.

Cave in! I’d bet this and that came up. I bet that and this would come up. After another hour I was now down $100 in total.

That ended my first session.

CINDY: How did you feel?

ABBY: Well, it is a guessing game. You have nothing to do with anything. You just guess the bet and go for it. Like most casino play, you are not the director of anything. You make your bet and wait for the decision. Now, we’ll see what you do.

CINDY: Next week!
