22 April 2022

By Dan Ippolito

In just six days, young athletes from college football will have their dreams come true by hearing their name get called and walking across the stage in Las Vegas for the NFL Draft. Before we talk more about the night at the Bellagio Fountains, we have some other top stories to dive into, including10 new online slots for players to enjoy, record online gambling numbers from several U.S. states, a new event center set to open in Pennsylvania and the World Poker Tour hitting the Las Vegas Strip.

Let’s start off with a new event center:

5. Event Center to open in June at Live! Casino Pittsburgh
Live! Casino Pittsburgh announced that it will open its brand new 7,000-square-foot event and entertainment space, The Venue at Live! Casino, in late June.

The new offering will accommodate up to 780 guests with adjustable layouts and audio/visual for wedding receptions, cocktail parties, theater presentations, live entertainment events and more.

Live! Casino also announced it will provide a free wedding dress, or free his & her wedding rings to qualifying couples who book now and who have their wedding reception in 2022 at The Venue.

“We are setting a new standard for all meetings and events in the region with The Venue at Live! Casino,” said Sean Sullivan, general manager of Live! Casino. “Led by a best-in-class team, this most recent investment is focused on making your experience unforgettable from the moment you step onto our property to the moment you leave.”

4. Michigan online casinos set revenue record in March
Michigan’s online casinos and poker rooms continue to surge, reaching $131.7 million in March revenue, shattering the record of $122.8 million set in February. That marks the third time in four months that online casino revenue has reached a new high. The online casino revenue soared past $130 million for the first time in Michigan.

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board reported earlier this week that the combined total revenue generated from all forms of gaming along with fantasy contests during March was the highest revenue achieved in a single month totaling $462,740,098. The previous high revenue month occurred in November 2021 at $432,490,129. Casino games offered online generated gross revenue of $118,118,408 during March 2022 compared to $97,689,743 in March 2021, an increase of 20.91%. The March revenue total was the highest to date topping the previous record of $108,310,642 achieved in January 2022.

3. Top 10 new online slot games for spring 2022
With new slot games constantly being revealed, we take a look at some of the most recent releases, including the Greek-inspired Super Size Atlas and its 50,000x max potential win.

The Magic Orb is a 7x7, cluster-paying game, featuring a host of rewards waiting to be discovered, with a magical orb placed in the center of the grid ready to fire up on any spin, rewarding players with one of the four random mini modifiers or triggering one of the two bonus rounds.

The Hold & Win Respins bonus can be triggered by the magic orb, or by landing five or more scatter symbols anywhere in view. Each time this is triggered, three initial respins are awarded, which will reset to three every time a new symbol lands.

During the Hold & Win feature, at least one of the Pot Prizes, worth 25x, 50x or 100x, is guaranteed to be triggered, while filling the entire grid will award the Mega Pot prize worth 250x.

Gorilla Riches takes place deep in a secluded, mysterious jungle where a stone temple erected in honor of a giant ape hosts the 5x4 reel set.

Offering 1,024 ways to win, its five reels are populated with other exotic jungle residents including butterflies, tree frogs and parrots whilst the bonus spins round offers unlimited retriggers for two or more scatters.

Wilds in the bonus round appear on reels two, three and four and award multipliers up to 4x, which not only multiply with each other (up to 64x) but also apply to all wins in the window.

Super Size Atlas is a 6x3 slot where players seek the mythical Titan’s favor to unlock additional ways to win and be awarded the sought-after treasure.

Matching combinations of ancient Greek-inspired symbols are required to unlock a win. These winning symbols are then removed from play triggering a new tumble feature, replacing the winning symbols which can, in turn, provide another win.

When players hit an expanding Atlas K-Raise symbol, it grows to fill the whole reel vertically and increases the number of playable rows by one. These wilds can be instrumental in unlocking the title’s 50,000x max potential win.

2. Las Vegas Strip prepares for 2022 NFL Draft
To kick off the celebrations, attending prospects will walk the NFL Draft Red Carpet constructed within the Fountains of Bellagio on Thursday 28 April.

The league previously announced that the NFL Draft Experience, the NFL's interactive football theme park, will be free and open to the public all three days of the Draft (28-30 April). The NFL Draft Experience and Draft Theater will be located behind the High Roller and The LINQ Hotel + Experience.

Fans can download the NFL OnePass app to play games at Draft Experience, receive digital content and enter for a chance to win exclusive prizes, including a trip for two to Super Bowl LVII in Arizona.

As the first Official Casino Sponsor of the NFL, Caesars Entertainment will host this next major sporting event on the Strip and its Caesars Sportsbook has also released player props for the upcoming draft.

1. World Poker Tour returns to The Venetian Las Vegas
The World Poker Tour continues to expand its 2022 schedule with the $5,000 buy-in WPT Venetian Las Vegas beginning on 12 July, which will have a $4,000,000 guaranteed prize pool. This marks the largest prize pool guarantee ever for a WPT Main Tour stop at The Venetian Las Vegas.

Additional WPT events will be hosted from 7 July - 17 July, as part of the DeepStack Championship Poker Series, beginning with a 1-day $1,100 buy-in event.

The most recent WPT tournament at The Venetian Resort was in July 2021, where the $5,000 Main Event approached 1,200 entries for a prize pool of over $5,500,000. Chad Eveslage of Muncie, Indiana, was the eventual champion, taking home $910,370.

“We look forward to continuing to build upon our storied history of premier tournament poker at The Venetian Resort this summer,” said Adam Pliska, CEO of World Poker Tour. “I am confident that players will be impressed by our joint efforts with The Venetian Resort to make this event bigger and better than ever.”
