(PRESS RELEASE) -- Eureka Casino Resort’s Shreeek-Reeka Halloween event is back, celebrating its 12th year of thrills, chills, and fun for the whole family.
On Thursday, 24 October, from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m., the VIP parking lot behind the casino will be transformed into a spooky wonderland filled with haunted houses, trick-or-treat stations, carnival games, and a haunted house contest. The event is free of charge to attend.
This year’s event promises to be the biggest yet, with four haunted houses — each crafted by local charities competing for a $1,000 donation prize for the scariest design.
Participating organizations include:
- Rotary Club of Mesquite - Virgin Valley High School & Beaver Dam High School Interact Clubs
- City of Mesquite Athletics & Leisure Services Department (Sunshine Academy Pre-School)
- Virgin Valley Artists Association
- Virgin Valley High School Future Farmers of America
Each group will receive $500 to design a 20x40-foot haunted house, with eventgoers voting for their favorite.
In addition to the haunted attractions, Shreeek-Reeka will feature trick-or-treat stations, carnival games, and ghoulish fun for kids of all ages. Guests are encouraged to come in costume and bring their own trick-or-treat bags to collect candy throughout the night.
Gerri Chasko, Director of the Eureka Community Initiative, expressed her excitement about the growth of the event.
“Every year, we see more local businesses and nonprofits wanting to be part of this incredible community event,” Chasko said. “It’s heartwarming to watch how families come together to celebrate in a fun, safe environment. Seeing children who once attended as participants now return as volunteers and actors is a true testament to the impact Shreeek-Reeka has had on our community.”
Ample parking is available, and seating will be provided for parents and grandparents who need a break during the festivities.
Shreeek-Reeka is sponsored by the Eureka Community Initiative, which has supported numerous local projects since its formation in 2012. This annual event has grown into a beloved Halloween tradition for the Mesquite community.
