(PRESS RELEASE) -- Week 9 in Circa Sports’ professional football contest, Circa Survivor, saw another 288 entries eliminated. With that, Circa Survivor is down to just 9.5% of the original field made up of 18,718 entries. Meanwhile, one entry in Circa Million VII tied for the lead in the second-quarter race and now boasts a healthy lead over the rest of the field in the contest’s overall standings.
Both Los Angeles teams were the most-picked teams in Week 9 representing 84% of the field. However, the third most-picked team was Green Bay, with 264 entries, against Carolina. Those entries represented 12.8% of the remaining field. The game was a low-scoring game, with Carolina leading 7-6 at halftime. Carolina went up 13-6, but Green Bay tied the game at 13 with just 2:32 left. Carolina was then able to move downfield and allow kicker Ryan Fitzgerald to hit a 49-yard field goal as time expired. Carolina then won the game eliminating those who picked Green Bay.
Green Bay was a 13.5-point favorite in the game. This marks the first time that a double-digit favorite has lost this season and is the biggest favorite to lose since 2023.
In addition to Green Bay losing, 15 entries selected Detroit who lost to Minnesota, eight entries picked Dallas who lost to Arizona on Monday night, and one contestant was relying on Houston. 288 entries in total were eliminated in Week 9.
With the Circa Survivor field down to 1,769 entries, over 90% of the original field has now been eliminated. The implied value of each remaining entry is $10,581.11 as the remaining field competes for the $18,718,000 prize pool.
In Circa Grandissimo, two entries selected Green Bay. The field is now down to 11 contestants as they vie for the $6,900,000 prize pool in the high-stakes contest’s inaugural year.
Circa Million VII pays out the top finishers every quarter. The second quarter ended after Weeks 5 through9 and the second quarter MVP award ended in a three-way tie. JACEJESSE3212, POTATO KMISH and WHISKEYRISKY&FRISKY all tied with a 21-4 record. These contestants split the $250,000 first place prize each taking home $83,333. POTATO KMISH is also in first place in the overall standings. The entry holds a 35-10 overall record, with a three-game lead on the rest of the field. That puts them in a good position to take home the $1,000,000 first place prize at the end of the season.
Meanwhile, seven entries finished with a 5-20 record, splitting the $25,000 quarterly booby prize seven-ways to take home $3,571.45 each.
