Las Vegas to welcome new service from Tel Aviv

10 December 2018

(PRESS RELEASE) -- EL AL Israel Airlines will soon be expanding its global network to include Las Vegas (LAS), operating a weekly flight beginning in June 2019.

In addition, EL AL will operate three weekly flights to San Francisco, CA beginning in May 2019. These flights will be operated by a 787 Dreamliner aircraft with economy, premium and business class options. With the addition of Las Vegas and San Francisco, EL AL will be operating nonstop flights to seven destinations in North America: New York, Boston, Miami, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas and Toronto.

EL AL CEO Gonen Usishkin: “The Dreamliner fleet enables us to expand our long-range route network. Last year we launched a nonstop route to Miami; we are eagerly awaiting the new nonstop route to San Francisco this coming May; and we are pleased to announce today the opening of another destination which is Las Vegas. We anticipate carrying tens of thousands of Israelis and tourists on our new routes and will continue to work towards expanding the network of destinations that EL AL offers.”

EL AL Vice President Commercial and Industry Affairs Michael Strassburger: “In recent years Las Vegas has become very attractive for the Israeli leisure travelers, and also among the business sector due to the many conferences and exhibitions held in the city. The nonstop flights to Las Vegas, with departures from Tel Aviv on Fridays and returning on Saturday night, are particularly attractive for the popular “business and pleasure” mix. In addition, the airline’s route network in North America and codeshare agreements allow customers to combine a visit to Las Vegas with a departure or return from one of EL AL’s other destinations in North America, including San Francisco and Los Angeles.”

Clark County Director of Aviation Rosemary Vassiliadis: “We’re always pleased to welcome opportunities for additional international travel, and next year’s launch of nonstop service between McCarran International and Ben-Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv is a particularly exciting development. Whether people will be traveling for recreation, business or cultural experiences, these flights will conveniently link two globally renown destinations. We look forward to working with our friends at EL AL Israel Airlines to further develop this market.”

Cathy Tull, Chief Marketing Officer for the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority: “The launch of weekly nonstop service by EL AL Israel Airlines from Tel Aviv provides a great opportunity to showcase all that Las Vegas has to offer to a new market. Las Vegas is an exciting global destination and adding this service helps support our long-term goal of growing overall international visitation.”
