(PRESS RELEASE) -- Marc Pierson of Oceanside, Calif., was the chip leader and won $4,500 and first place after a nine-way chop determined the winners of the February 15K Nooner poker championship, Sunday, Feb. 16, at Pala Casino Resort and Spa. Richard Freeman of Corona, CA, finished second along with seven others who requested to remain anonymous. Each player won $1,312. Pierson will have his named engraved on the Pala Signature Cup and his photo will be published in a future edition of Card Player magazine.
The $15,000 prize pool tournament hosted 76 entrants.
The next 15K Nooner Championship will be played Sunday, March 30. Registration will be accepted until 2 p.m. The entry fee will be $125 with a $15,000 guarantee. There will be two, optional $25 re-buys or add-ons. The winner’s name will be engraved on the Pala Signature Cup and the winner’s photo will be published in Card Player Magazine.
