(PRESS RELEASE) -- Make-A-Wish Southern Florida announces its partnership with Charity Series of Poker and Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Hollywood in Florida to host the “Larry Frank Memorial Event Benefiting Make-A-Wish Southern Florida.” The event will take place on Thursday, 3 April at 7 p.m. during the Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown.
Larry Frank was a member of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. Before he passed in 2021, he worked for Seminole Gaming and Seminole Hard Rock Support Services for more than 25 years in various roles including General Manager of Poker Operations and General Manager of Seminole Classic Casino.
The “Larry Frank Memorial Charity Event Benefitting Make-A-Wish® Southern Florida” will feature a Texas Hold ‘em tournament, with a $300 buy-in. The First-Place winner will take home $5,000 cash plus a seat in the $3,500 WPT Poker Showdown Championship starting on Friday, 4 April, courtesy of Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood. The silent auction and cocktail hour with hors d’oeuvres will be from 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom and the tournament will begin at 7 p.m. in the Grand Ballroom. WPT Executive Tour Director Matt Savage will be in attendance and participating alongside Poker Pro Michael Mizrachi who has six WSOP Bracelets, two WPT Titles and $18 million in lifetime winnings.
All net proceeds from the event will benefit Make-A-Wish Southern Florida, which creates life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. Research shows a wish can give kids the strength to fight against and even overcome a critical illness.
