Arizona suspends Turf Paradise teletrack permit
20 October 2026(PRESS RELEASE) -- The Arizona Department of Gaming has issued a public notice regarding the regulatory action taken to protect the public and uphold the integrity of the regulated racing and wagering industry in Arizona.
Effective 16 October, the Division of Racing has taken action to suspend Skyfall 7, LLC dba Turf Paradise Racecourse's teletrack permit due to lack of property access and of necessary personnel to support authorized pari-mutuel wagering operations. These restrictions have prevented racing participants from accessing the facility, interrupted the ability to conduct live horse racing as scheduled, and affected the personnel and operations necessary to conduct pari-mutuel wagering activities at Turf Paradise and Off-Track Betting locations.
“Protecting the wagering public and maintaining the integrity of Arizona’s racing industry are fundamental to our regulatory responsibility” said Shannon Nelson, Director of Racing for the Arizona Department of Gaming, Division of Racing. “While the circumstances surrounding Turf Paradise involve a private business dispute, our regulatory responsibilities remain unchanged. When the operational requirements necessary to conduct authorized wagering are not met, we have a responsibility to act to ensure consumer and financial safeguards are in place.”
The Department's public notice provides additional information regarding the status of both Commercial Racing and Teletrack permits, the regulatory action, and guidance for affected wagering customers and racing industry stakeholders. In coordination with the Arizona Racing Commission, the Department continues to monitor operations closely while upholding all standards set forth in Arizona racing statutes.
