Bermuda: Gaming idea rejected by MPs

10 May 2010

BERMUDA -- A proposed July vote on casinos in Bermuda looks unlikely, according to The Royal Gazette.

14 MPs voted against it yesterday, while in the debate 24 MPs were vocally opposed to the Green Paper on Gaming, The Royal Gazette report said.

The Premier, who supports casinos, acknowledged the opposition, but hoped it can be considered at another date, citing casinos in the economic and tourist interests of Bermuda, The Royal Gazette reported.
