Circa Survivor under 9,000 entries left after Week 2

(PRESS RELEASE) -- Circa Sports, a leading authority in sports betting, saw another dramatic round of eliminations in Week 2 of Circa Survivor, its record-setting professional football contest with a $25,017,000 prize pool. After a chaotic Week 1 eliminated 8,039 entries, another series of upsets in Week 2 knocked out more than 8,000 additional entries and significantly narrowed the field.

Like last week, the top team that was picked, San Francisco, was able to get through with a win. San Francisco represented 40 percent of the picks this week. However, the team that was just behind them, Tampa Bay, did not share the same results. Despite leading or being tied for almost the entire game, including leading 16-6 in the third quarter, Tampa Bay allowed a touchdown with 3:51 left in the game to fall behind 23-19. This did not finish without drama and a lot of angst. With Tampa Bay driving at the two-minute warning, the game went into a weather delay. For just over two hours, people on Tampa Bay had to wait it out, hoping that the game would resume, and then hoping that Tampa Bay would be able to take the lead back. However, their wait would be for nothing, as Tampa would be unable to score, and Cleveland won. This eliminated 6,063 entries, or 36 percent of the remaining field.

Tampa Bay wasn’t alone in eliminations. The third most popular pick was LAC. Once again, as a big favorite against a team that most people thought was a bottom-feeder in the league, LAC could not come out with a win. This eliminated 1,357 people. Los Angeles became just the second team in the Big Game era to lose both of their first two games as at least 6-point favorites, joining 2022 Cincinnati, who are a team who live in infamy to Circa Survivor players.

Baltimore also lost to New Orleans as the fifth-highest selection. This took out 835 entries, or 5 percent of the field. In total, 8,325 entries went down, with 8,610 remaining to compete for the $25,017,000 prize pool. This does include 146 entries on Los Angeles on Monday night. Each entry now has an implied value of $2,906. To compare to past seasons of Circa Survivor with chaotic early weeks, just 27 percent of the initial field survived through week 2 in 2024, and 32 percent of the field survived through week 2 in 2022.

Similarly to Circa Survivor, there were eliminations in Circa Grandissimo. The $100,000 Survivor contest is down to just 30 entries from the original 77 after 19 were eliminated this week. 14 went out to Tampa Bay, four went out on Baltimore while another went out on LAC. Of those 30 entries that are remaining, only three entrants have the maximum two entries remaining, with the other 24 each having a single entry going for the grand prize of $7,700,000.
